EUGENE, Ore. – A collision between a pickup truck and a log truck in north Eugene resulted in serious injuries for one driver on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies, along with fire personnel, responded to the scene at approximately 3 p.m. on March 18 following reports of the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Prairie Road and Irvington Road. Preliminary investigation findings indicate that a silver 2004 Nissan Frontier heading westbound on Irvington Road failed to heed a stop sign. This led to a collision with a red 2006 Kenworth log truck that was traveling northbound on Prairie Road, officials reported.
The driver of the Nissan was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for severe injuries. The driver of the log truck was unharmed and fully cooperated with the investigation, as stated by authorities.
