A pickup truck pulling a U-Haul trailer crashed into a restaurant sign on I-40 in Amarillo, Texas, on March 19, 2025.

The incident occurred before 4:20 p.m. near EB I-40 and the Western Street exit. According to the report by ABC 7 News, the driver of the Toyota Tundra apparently rear-ended a BMW SUV on or near the entrance ramp before veering off the interstate. The truck then traveled across the service road, over a curb, and into the sign for Rudy’s Barbecue.
Cinder blocks that had supported the sign crashed to the ground, and pieces of brick were scattered across the parking lot.
The truck sustained significant damage, bending in the middle. Authorities have not released information regarding any injuries. As of 6:30 p.m., the service road remained closed, and police were advising drivers to avoid the area.
