Pickup Truck Crashes into Caseyville Hardee’s Restaurant
A pickup truck crashed through the wall of a Hardee’s restaurant in Caseyville, Illinois, on Wednesday night. According to Sgt. Travis Hoguet of the Caseyville Police Department, the truck’s owner was sleeping in the parking lot when the incident occurred. The next thing the owner knew, the vehicle was inside the restaurant’s lobby.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident. The Caseyville Police Department, along with the French Village Fire Department, responded to the scene. “Responding companies arrived on scene with Caseyville Police Department to find a pickup truck had crashed into the lobby area of the restaurant,” the fire department stated in a release. “Crews immediately assessed the situation, confirming no one was trapped in the vehicle or building and verifying no injuries had occurred.”
As a precaution, the restaurant was evacuated and remains closed temporarily while repairs are being made. Messages left with the fire department and the restaurant were not immediately returned. An official police report was not available at the time of reporting.
The incident has left the local community concerned, but relief is evident due to the lack of injuries. The Hardee’s location at 8850 Petroff Drive will remain closed until further notice.
