FALL RIVER, Mass. — A pickup truck crashed into the Kindercare Center on North Main Street in Fall River early Thursday morning, leaving the building with significant damage. The incident occurred around 1 a.m., according to WPRI. Fortunately, no one was inside the daycare at the time of the crash, and there were no reported injuries.
The truck was towed away with heavy damage, and a large hole was left near the front entrance of the building. Program Director Stephanie Perreira told 12 News that the daycare would remain closed on Thursday, but the duration of the closure was uncertain. Perreira noted that this was not the first time the daycare had been hit by a vehicle. The center serves approximately 90 children year-round.
One person has been taken into custody in connection with the incident, although it is unclear whether they will face charges. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. This is an ongoing breaking news story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
