MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A pickup truck crashed into a utility pole Friday morning in the Orange Mound neighborhood. The incident occurred near the intersection of Southern Avenue and Semmes Street.
The pickup truck was traveling near Southern Avenue when it struck the pole. The impact caused damage to the pole itself. The driver was assessed at the scene, as authorities investigated the cause.
One witness stated that they saw the driver attempting to gain control. The witness said they were located near a nearby business when they heard the crash. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Officials on the scene said the driver of the truck stated that he was attempting to turn toward a business when the crash occurred. He told police that he was attempting to turn into a parking area when the crash happened. He was assessed for injuries and released.
