Just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 16th, a pickup truck crashed into the Culver’s restaurant in Watertown, South Dakota. According to a press release from Watertown Fire Rescue, the vehicle, a blue Ford F150, drove through the front glass walls near the main entrance.
Watertown Fire Rescue’s Battalion 1 and Engine 1 quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders found that the vehicle narrowly missed a support column for the wall and overhang. Fortunately, damage appeared to be limited to the framing and glass of the wall.
No injuries were reported for anyone in the vehicle or inside the restaurant. Fire officials determined that the building did not require any structural shoring.
Watertown Fire Rescue units were on-scene for less than 15 minutes and received assistance from the Watertown Police Department and the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
