A pickup truck was engulfed in flames Monday evening at a trailer park located in north Lincoln. The incident occurred near 48th and Orchard streets, and was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m.
A video captured by a viewer showed the pickup truck fully ablaze, parked between two trailers. Thick black smoke billowed into the air. By the time a reporter from Channel 8 arrived at the scene, the fire had already been extinguished. The Lincoln Fire & Rescue (LFR) reported that the two nearby trailers sustained minor damage due to the heat from the fire.
LFR officials have determined the cause of the fire to be accidental. Currently, investigators are still working to determine the total cost of the damage. This is an ongoing story, and updates will be provided as they become available.
