A pickup truck landed upside down in the water off the coast of Southwest Harbor, Maine, on Thursday, according to the Southwest Harbor Fire Department.

A pickup truck ended up upside down in the water along the coast of Southwest Harbor on Thursday.
Firefighters reported that the truck’s brakes failed, and the driver crossed the dock at Dysarts Great Harbor Marina. The vehicle then went through the barricade and fell approximately 20 feet into the water. The driver managed to escape the truck and climb back onto the dock, sustaining only a cut to their hand.
The truck ended up in the water with its back end resting on the dock and the front resting on the mud due to low tide. Firefighters quickly deployed an absorbent boom to contain any fluids leaking from the vehicle.
A barge and crane were used to remove the truck, floating it to the Manset Dock, where it was then loaded onto a tow truck.
