Pickup Truck Crushed by Tractor-Trailer on I-95
WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A crash on I-95 in Westport, Connecticut, on Thursday resulted in minor injuries after a tractor-trailer severely damaged a pickup truck, according to state police.
The accident occurred around 1:07 p.m. on I-95 south near Exit 18. Both vehicles ended up off the road in an embankment.
Westport and Fairfield Fire Departments were on the scene and were able to safely remove everyone involved from the vehicles.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was notified of a fluid spill near the crash site.
The scene was cleared at 1:49 p.m. Connecticut State Police are investigating the cause of the accident, and cleanup operations were ongoing.
