Porsche Driver Flees Without Paying, Sparking Outrage in China
A Porsche driver in China is under fire after allegedly skipping out on a petrol bill, leaving a petrol station employee to foot the cost. The incident, which occurred on a highway in central China, has ignited a firestorm of criticism on social media.
The incident occurred on March 12th, with details emerging online thanks to a petrol station employee. According to reports, the driver, behind the wheel of a luxury black Porsche, filled the car’s tank and then sped off without paying the 502.29 yuan (approximately US$70) bill. Surveillance footage captured the car, which was reportedly without a license plate, leaving the station.

Driving without a license plate is illegal in China. New cars can be driven on the road after the driver applies for a temporary number plate.

The story quickly gained traction online, with many criticising the driver’s actions and expressing sympathy for the station worker who had to cover the cost of the fuel. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of ethical conduct.
