Social media in China is buzzing with outrage over a recent incident involving a Porsche driver who allegedly evaded a petrol bill, leaving a station worker to foot the expense. The event has quickly ignited discussion about the driver’s actions.
The incident occurred at a petrol station located on a highway stretching between Hubei and Shaanxi provinces in central China. According to reports, the driver of a black Porsche, estimated to be worth US$75,000, filled up their tank and subsequently sped off without settling the 500 yuan (US$70) bill. The story gained traction after a staff member at the petrol station brought the incident to light online.

The driver’s actions, captured on surveillance video, show the individual filling the tank before making a swift exit. Furthermore, the vehicle was reportedly without a number plate, a violation of Chinese law. New cars get temporary number plates, usually in the form of two papers that need to be displayed on the front and rear windshields.

The unpaid bill and the driver’s subsequent actions have drawn sharp criticism online, with many internet users expressing their disapproval. The incident highlights a contentious issue, with the station worker facing the financial repercussions of the driver’s actions.
