Porsche Experience Centre Toronto to Open in June
A luxury auto brand park and tourist experience in Pickering, east of Toronto, is nearing completion. The Porsche Experience Centre Toronto, a much-anticipated project, is set to open in June 2025. This will mark the world’s tenth global experience centre for Porsche and the third in North America, following locations in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
The centre, part of the Durham Live complex next to the Pickering Casino Resort, will offer enthusiasts a chance to experience Porsche’s vehicle dynamics and technology firsthand. The facility features a two-kilometre driver development handling circuit inspired by iconic racetracks like Laguna Seca and the Nürburgring. Four instructor-led driving modules will demonstrate the engineering of Porsche models, including a handling circuit, dynamics area, low-friction handling circuit, and drift circle.
The complex also includes a lab with five cutting-edge simulators where visitors can virtually compete on racetracks worldwide. The building is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring a geothermal heating and cooling system and photovoltaic roof panels that will provide about 20% of the building’s electricity. Canadian elements are incorporated into the design, including Quebec wood lamellas on the exterior walls and a locally commissioned art sculpture at the entrance.
The Porsche Experience Centre is a key component of the Durham Live project, which aims to create an entertainment complex with hotels, shopping districts, restaurants, and high-end residential towers. While the original plans for Durham Live included an indoor water park and film studio, the vision has evolved since the casino opened in July 2021.
Porsche Canada CEO Trevor Arthur expressed excitement about sharing this experience with fans, stating it will create about 65 local jobs. The centre will be open to both Porsche owners and enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the brand’s world.
While an official grand opening date in June has not been announced, the completion of this project represents a significant milestone for Porsche in Canada and a major addition to the Durham Live entertainment complex.
