Reckless Driver Arrested in Portland After Social Media Fame
A man accused of reckless driving throughout Portland was arrested on Friday, April 18, 2025, after his dangerous stunts were documented on Instagram. Oscar Burell Jr., 33, had gained hundreds of followers on the social media platform with his Instagram account @keepingitlittlike06, featuring dozens of videos of himself driving recklessly in his bright blue 1994 GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The content on his account ranged from driving on the shoulder of I-5 to performing donuts on the grass near Peninsula Park’s tennis courts. For weeks, the account was updated nearly every hour with new videos, some of which included close-ups of hand gestures mimicking shooting, while others captured his responses to online criticism with statements like, “N***** big mad on the internet.”
In some instances, Burell was seen dancing in the middle of the road while cars sped by. Other videos showed him sitting outside his driver’s seat window while controlling the vehicle on various streets. The Portland Police Bureau launched an investigation into Burell in late March 2025 following tips from the public and news media about his concerning posts.
During the investigation, several concerned residents shared their experiences on Reddit after reporting them to the police. One Reddit user commented, “I saw him driving southbound on MLK on Wednesday as I was going North and it took my brain a whole minute to process what the f* was going on. The area he’s frequenting is my neighborhood…I bike, walk and occasionally drive here. This is genuinely so f**** scary.”
At times, Burell’s posts showed him approaching homes. One Redditor found a video of the man on their porch through the Instagram account, commenting, “Holy s***, this guy pulled up in front of my house and started dancing on my porch sometime on Wednesday. It was nuts. I noticed he was filming himself while he was writhing on the road. Wtf.”
Burell was arrested after calling police to report a hit and run near 3700 SE Hawthorne Blvd. around 11:45 a.m. The responding officer recognized Burell’s name and called for backup to assist in his arrest. Investigators say Burell was involved in a confrontation with another driver when the other driver sideswiped him while he was standing in the middle of the road before driving away.
Burell was charged with three counts of reckless driving, first-degree criminal mischief, and recklessly endangering another person. The other driver involved in the hit and run has not been found. The Portland Police Bureau had confirmed they were searching for Burell earlier this month, stating, “PPB recognizes the risk this person presents to the community and is very concerned about the reckless actions being taken.”
