A video circulating on social media depicts a man urinating at a busy traffic junction in Pune, India. The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning in the Shastrinagar area of Pune’s Yerawada, has prompted an immediate police investigation.
The man in the video has been identified as Gaurav Ahuja, who was allegedly driving a BMW. Police reports indicate that Ahuja is currently absconding. According to eyewitness accounts and the video itself, Ahuja stepped out of his luxury car at the traffic junction and relieved himself in the middle of the road. His associate, Bhagyesh Oswal, was sitting in the front seat of the car during the incident.
Authorities were alerted after the video went viral on X (formerly Twitter). The Yerawada police station has registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code) and the Motor Vehicles Act. The charges include public nuisance, rash and negligent driving, and endangering public safety.
Bhagyesh Oswal has been detained and sent for medical tests. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are actively working to apprehend Ahuja. “Oswal has been sent for medical tests as we believe the youth were drunk at the time. Ahuja is absconding, and local police and Crime Branch teams are making efforts to nab him,” a police official stated.
According to media reports, Gaurav Ahuja is the son of restaurant owner Manoj Ahuja. Activist Vijay Kumbhar stated on X (formerly Twitter) that Ahuja is a “habitual criminal” with a history of offenses, alleging that he knows how to exploit legal loopholes. The incident has caused considerable public reaction, and the police are under pressure to resolve the case quickly.
