While visiting my parents recently, I relished the chance to reconnect with family and, importantly, spend time with my E39 BMW 540i that they’re storing for me. I’ve always loved this car, and I’m still convinced it’s among the finest ever made.
Although many admire the M5, the 540i’s manual transmission and sport suspension make it a joy to drive. The ride is fantastic. The infotainment system, while basic by today’s standards, still works. It’s fun to drive and remarkably comfortable on long journeys.
That said, there’s a whole world of greater luxury out there, and it’s got me considering the ultimate question: what is the best luxury car ever built?
