The 2026 Ram 1500 Ramcharger is getting closer to its official release, and as a result, the automaker has revealed some specification updates. Though the range remains unchanged, the all-wheel-drive system output is now rated at 654 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque, a small reduction from earlier projections. This also affects acceleration; the 0-60 mph time has increased slightly.
In a recent media briefing, Ram provided further details on the range-extended pickup. Originally introduced nearly 16 months ago, the Ramcharger is designed to offer a practical solution for those needing the capabilities of a truck without fully committing to a battery-only vehicle. The company announced at the briefing that due to delays, the truck’s release has been pushed to the 2026 model year.
However, there are some changes that potential buyers should be aware of. The dual-motor all-wheel drive system, initially announced at 663 hp, has been adjusted to 654 hp (488 kW / 663 PS). The torque output remains unchanged at 615 lb-ft (833 Nm). This impacts the truck’s acceleration; the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time has increased from 4.4 to 4.5 seconds.

Despite the slight dip in performance, other specifications have improved. The DC fast charging capability has been upgraded from 145 kW to 175 kW. Ram anticipates that owners can expect upwards of 50 miles (80 km) of range in roughly 10 minutes of charging. The Ramcharger will feature a 92 kWh battery pack and a 3.6-liter V6 engine to act as a generator, making it a range-extended electric vehicle. The truck’s total range is targeted at 690 miles (1,110 km), surpassing that of many traditional EVs.

The Ramcharger will be built on the sturdy STLA Frame platform, allowing it to remain work-ready even with its electric powertrain. The truck is capable of towing up to 14,000 lbs (6,350 kg) and carrying a payload of up to 2,625 lbs (1,191 kg). Additionally, contractors will benefit from the bed-mounted onboard power panel that provides up to 7.2 kW of power to the job site.

Along with the specification updates, Ram released a new video showcasing charging information on the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the 12- or 14.5-inch infotainment system. The automaker is also releasing new images that display powertrain components, charging schedules, driving history, and the vehicle-to-home functionality.

The Ram 1500 Ramcharger is scheduled to arrive in the second half of the year, and the fully electric 1500 REV is slated to follow in 2026.
