Ram is enhancing its warranty coverage for most 2026 models, extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years or 100,000 miles. This improvement applies to the gas-powered 2026 Ram 1500 lineup, as well as heavy-duty trucks and ProMaster vans sold in the United States.
Currently, Ram’s powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles for gas models and five years or 100,000 miles for diesel models. The new extended warranty will make Ram’s coverage the longest among full-size trucks. The models eligible for this improved warranty include the half-ton and HD trucks, chassis-cab 3500, 4500, and 5500, and ProMaster vans. The off-road-ready Ram RHO and heavy-duty Power Wagon also qualify, while all-electric models like the Ram ProMaster EV are excluded.
Key Details of Ram’s New Powertrain Warranty
The new limited powertrain warranty covers critical components including axles, driveshafts, engine, transmission, and transfer case. This warranty applies to new vehicles that are either purchased or leased, though fleet purchases are not eligible for the same protection.
This move comes as part of a series of positive developments for Ram. Earlier this month, the brand announced the return of the popular Hemi V-8 engine. The extended warranty is likely to enhance customer confidence in the brand’s vehicles, providing peace of mind for buyers of its 2026 models.

Eric Stafford, Managing Editor at Car and Driver, notes that this development is part of a broader trend of improvements for Ram. Stafford has been covering automotive news since 2016 and has a deep understanding of the industry.
