The Ram ProMaster EV is poised to become a much more attractive option for businesses and private customers alike. The 2025 model year brings a substantial price reduction and a wider range of body styles, making the electric van significantly more accessible.

Previously offered solely in a step van configuration with an extra-high roof and a roll-up rear door, the ProMaster EV now includes a conventional cargo van body style. This expanded range allows for a lower starting price of $58,490 (including destination), representing a substantial 27% decrease compared to the previous year’s starting price of $77,995.
More Body Styles, Lower Prices
For the 2024 model year, the Ram ProMaster EV was exclusively available as a step van. However, the 2025 model introduces two additional body styles, both built on the 159-inch wheelbase: a standard-length cargo van and an extended-length version. Both cargo van options feature the ‘High Roof’ configuration that opens up an impressive 77 inches of interior height.
The cargo vans are available in Tradesman, SLT, and SLT+ trim levels. Even the base model is well-equipped, coming standard with adaptive cruise control, forward collision monitoring, a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, and push-button start.
All versions of the 2025 ProMaster EV, like their 2024 step van counterpart, are powered by a 110-kilowatt-hour battery paired with a front-mounted electric motor.
Competitive Performance
The ProMaster EV boasts a best-in-class 268 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque, surpassing the Ford E-Transit’s 266 hp and the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter’s 208 hp. The electric Ram also offers a competitive range, achieving 162 miles in combined driving and up to 180 miles in city driving.
While the E-Transit offers 159 miles of range and the eSprinter offers up to 208 miles (with its larger battery), the ProMaster EV’s combination of range and power make it a strong contender in the electric van market.
Cheaper Step Van Variant
Ram didn’t just lower prices by scaling back features. The step van version, which is often favored by delivery services, also sees a price reduction. It now starts at $71,990 which is $8,000 less expensive than before. It’s the only OEM-built van in the space with this delivery-ready body and offers the only way to get an extra-high roof in a Ram van.
The 2025 step van also adds adaptive cruise control and a heated driver’s seat as standard equipment, increasing its value even further. The step van’s unique configuration provides a slightly lower payload capacity compared to the standard cargo vans: up to 2,876 pounds versus 3,020.
All iterations of can fast charge up to 150 kilowatts, meaning users can expect a 10-to-80 percent charge in around 50 minutes.
For overnight charging at the office, the ProMaster EV comes equipped with an 11-kW AC onboard charger. This allows for a full overnight recharge using Level 2 power outlets, according to the manufacturer.
