Arrival Electric Van Prototype Available on eBay
A unique opportunity has arisen for EV enthusiasts and collectors. A working prototype of an Arrival electric van is currently listed for sale on eBay. Arrival, a UK-based electric vehicle startup that once garnered significant attention, unfortunately, entered administration earlier this year.
The company, which had secured a substantial order of 10,000 electric vans from UPS, ultimately faced financial challenges. The sale of its assets now offers an unusual chance to acquire a piece of automotive history.
This prototype, offered by a seller who reportedly worked at Arrival, is believed to be a late Gamma pre-production unit. It’s equipped with what is said to be the smallest battery pack available, a 67-kilowatt-hour unit which is purported to allow for a range of 112 miles based on WLTP standards. The van is a right-hand drive model, potentially making it more of a novelty on roads.
One significant attraction of this listing is the inclusion of a considerable quantity of spare parts. The seller states that at least six pallets of parts will be delivered with the vehicle, including an extra battery pack, drive unit, brakes, steering racks, and various body and interior components.
The auction is currently bid-based, with the current highest bid around $57,000. This price point is positioned as a potentially attractive value compared to the Rivian Electric Commercial Van, especially when considering the added value of the spare parts.
This vehicle would make for a unique project for a dedicated EV fan or could be converted into a unique camper, albeit with a limited range.
