Renault has expanded its electric vehicle offerings with the launch of three new electric vans tailored for commercial use. The new vehicles, the Estafette, Goelette, and Trafic E-Tech, are the result of a collaboration with Flexis, an independent company founded by the Renault Group, Volvo Group, and CMA CGM Group.
Building on a new “skateboard” platform and Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture, these vans aim to provide flexibility, ergonomics, and connectivity for businesses. The vans offer “virtually infinite possibilities for customisation and reduced running costs,” according to Renault.
The Trafic van, a long-standing model since 1980, gets an electric makeover. The design features a short front overhang and extended wheelbase, with wheels at the corners to maximize interior space while maintaining a tight turning circle. It is less than 1.90 meters tall for easy access to underground car parks.
The Goelette is a reinterpretation of a classic Renault LCV from the 1950s. It is designed for a variety of applications and will be offered in chassis cab, box, and tipper versions.
The Estafette E-Tech electric is a modern take on Renault’s iconic 1960s van, designed for modern urban logistics. It measures 5.27 meters in length and 1.92 meters in width, making it suitable for city driving. The Estafette is 2.60 meters high, allowing for comfortable movement inside.
The new range of electric vans will be manufactured in France, at the Sandouville plant, and are scheduled to arrive on the market in 2026. Further details regarding the vehicles are expected to be released in the coming months, Renault stated.
