Rivian’s EV Sales Surge, Facing Roadblocks
Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer, has reported a successful 2024, delivering a significant number of electric SUVs, trucks, and vans to customers. The company’s sales more than tripled compared to the previous year.
Despite the sales growth, Rivian’s production numbers didn’t quite match expectations. The company produced fewer vehicles than initially projected for 2024.

In a noteworthy development, Rivian entered a joint venture with Volkswagen Group in June. Volkswagen invested in Rivian, gaining access to the company’s software and electrical architecture expertise to modernize its portfolio.
Furthermore, Rivian secured a significant loan commitment from the government at the end of the year, though there’s uncertainty about its future.
