Rolls-Royce Cullinan Rented, Then Used in Bank Robbery Spree
A Rolls-Royce Cullinan, rented for $1,750 per day, was allegedly used in a series of bank robberies across multiple counties in Michigan. The vehicle’s escapades culminated in a police chase that ended with the suspect abandoning the luxury SUV.
According to a report from Fox 2 Detroit, the opulent SUV was rented from Dream Luxury Car Rentals in Southfield, Michigan.
Authorities say the Cullinan was used in several robberies at banks in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties shortly after it was rented.
Following the string of robberies, police spotted the driver of the Rolls-Royce and initiated a pursuit. The suspect eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The investigation has been handed over to the FBI, and the suspect is still at large.
The recovered Cullinan sustained roughly $15,000 in damages during the incident.
Dream Luxury Car Rentals owner, Sam Zahar, told Fox 2 Detroit he recognized his car when he saw news footage of a Cullinan being towed. Zahar revealed this wasn’t the first time one of his vehicles had been connected to criminal activity; a few months prior, a rented car of his was used in a mail truck robbery.
Despite these incidents, Zahar maintains a positive outlook, stating, “We put a lot of smiles on peoples faces.”
