Rolls-Royce Sale Unravels After Buyer’s Inspection
A car dealership experienced a swift change of events in the sale of a Rolls-Royce. After a prospective buyer arranged for an inspection, it was revealed that the luxury vehicle required substantial repairs, leading to negotiations and a price reduction.

Initially, the sale of the Rolls-Royce seemed straightforward, until the buyer arranged a thorough inspection. The vehicle had passed a pre-MOT inspection, with the only notable issue being a washer fluid motor. However, the buyer, Gary, sought an independent specialist’s assessment before completing the purchase.

The subsequent inspection revealed the need for over $7,000 in repairs to bring the car to a satisfactory standard. The list of necessary fixes included a faulty starter motor, aged tires, cracking brake pipes, and some leaks. While the dealer was interested to know the final results, he was not likely expecting this.
As a result of these findings, the buyer requested a price reduction of £2,000 (approximately $2,500). After some discussions, the dealer and buyer agreed to reduce the price by £1,000 (about $1,200), as some repairs were considered optional. The dealer and buyer came to an agreement despite the high cost of repairs that were discovered.
