Shaq’s Escalade Surprise
Shaquille O’Neal, the NBA icon known for his towering height and impressive car collection, recently experienced a moment of forgetfulness. A brand new Cadillac Escalade IQ, the electric model, arrived at his residence, and Shaq had no recollection of the purchase.

Shaq’s car collection is vast, with over 40 vehicles, and it’s not uncommon for him to lose track of certain acquisitions. It’s easy to see how this could happen when you’re worth a reported $500 million.
When the team from Effortless Motors, the company responsible for customizing the Escalade IQ (the same company that worked on his Cybertruck), showed up at his door, they were met with a surprised reaction. “Oh man. I bought an IQ? I forgot I had,” Shaq admitted.

The Escalade IQ boasts a sleek, all-black design, with black wheels, black paint, and a black interior. It’s a subtle, understated look, except for the vehicle’s massive size. For Shaq, this meant that, for once, he didn’t need any modifications to fit comfortably in the driver’s seat.
Customization is Key for Shaq
Because of his imposing stature, most cars require extensive modification to accommodate Shaq comfortably. This wasn’t necessary for his custom Mercedes van or his Tesla Cybertruck.
One notable example of Shaq’s need for customization is his Lucid Air, which has been converted into a coupe by removing the back seats.
