Skoda’s Vocational School has created another unique one-off vehicle, this time transforming a Skoda Superb Estate into a pickup truck called the L&K 130. The project celebrates 130 years since Skoda was founded and pays tribute to the company’s bicycle manufacturing heritage.
Key Features of the Skoda L&K 130
The L&K 130 features an electronically extending load bed, achieved through a rack-and-pinion mechanism at the touch of a button. This design allows for easy loading and unloading of race bikes, which are secured using off-the-shelf Skoda accessories. The vehicle can carry three bikes – two in the extended load bed and one on the roof rack.

The rear doors of the L&K 130 operate on a sliding mechanism, allowing them to open alongside bike paths without obstructing cyclists. Inside, a passenger-side display enables the tracking of live telemetry or race conditions for team riders. The vehicle also features a radio installation.

The L&K 130’s design includes a red, gold, and black livery, nodding to the original Laurin & Klement logo. This logo is prominently displayed on the bonnet, replacing the modern Skoda logo.

While this unique pickup truck is not intended for production, it showcases the creativity and engineering skills of Skoda’s Vocational School students. The project demonstrates Skoda’s commitment to innovation and its rich history in both automotive and bicycle manufacturing.
