Students Taken to Hospital After School Bus, Truck Crash in Farmington
FARMINGTON, ME (WGME) — Farmington Police Department reported that four students were transported to the hospital for evaluation after a crash involving a school bus and a pickup truck.
The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Front Street and Main Street in Farmington.
According to authorities, the pickup truck was following the school bus on Front Street. When the bus came to a stop at the intersection, the pickup truck struck it at a low speed.
The bus was carrying 37 students at the time of the collision. Fourteen students were assessed at the scene and subsequently released. Four students were then transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital for evaluation of suspected minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash. Both vehicles sustained minor damage, with no significant damage reported to the school bus.
The crash is currently under investigation.
