School Bus Involved in Collision in Farmington, Maine
FARMINGTON, ME (WGME) – Authorities report that four students were transported to the hospital for evaluation following a crash involving a school bus and a pickup truck in Farmington.
The Farmington Police Department indicated that the collision occurred around 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Front Street and Main Street. According to the police, the pickup truck was traveling behind the school bus on Front Street. The truck then struck the bus at a low speed when the bus stopped at the intersection.
The school bus was carrying a total of 37 students at the time of the accident. Initial evaluations were conducted at the scene, with fourteen students being released. Four students were subsequently taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital for further assessment of potential minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the incident. Damage to the school bus was described as not significant, while the truck sustained minor damage. The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
