SWAT Team Responds to Milwaukee Neighborhood Shooting Incident
A reported shooting in a Milwaukee neighborhood led to a SWAT team response and a brief standoff with an unoccupied pickup truck on April 25. The incident began shortly before 2:30 p.m. when two deputy sheriffs near South 12th Street and West Harrison Avenue witnessed an occupant of a pickup truck firing several gunshots toward homes in a densely populated residential area, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Deputies located the pickup truck parked on South 10th Street, just south of West Arthur Avenue, where a short standoff ensued. As deputies approached the vehicle, its brake lights appeared to blink on and off, prompting the sheriff’s office to initiate the SWAT team and call for backup due to the perceived threat of armed occupants.
Shortly after 4:15 p.m., a sheriff’s office spokesperson confirmed that the SWAT team had determined the truck was unoccupied. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are still seeking the occupants of the pickup truck.
