Tata Harrier EV Set to Launch on June 3
Tata Motors is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated electric SUV, the Tata Harrier EV, on June 3. This new flagship model for the Indian carmaker’s electric vehicle lineup was showcased in its final production version at the Auto Expo 2025. The Harrier EV is expected to revolutionize the electric SUV segment with its cutting-edge technology and impressive performance capabilities.
Design and Features
The Tata Harrier EV retains much of the design theme from its diesel counterpart but with distinct elements that set it apart as an EV. Notable features include a closed front grille to enhance aerodynamics, moderately updated front and rear bumpers inspired by the Tata Nexon EV, and efficient aero alloy wheels. The LEDs feature linked daytime running lights (DRLs) and rear lamps that are largely similar to the standard Harrier.

While Tata hasn’t officially revealed the interior, it’s likely to share the same dashboard design as the ICE model. Expected features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. Additional premium features such as dual-zone climate control and a powered tailgate are also anticipated. The ‘Summon Mode’ feature, allowing remote movement using the key fob, and a passenger screen are other highlights.
Specifications and Performance
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV will feature an all-wheel drive, dual-motor setup, making it the brand’s first all-electric SUV with such a configuration. While exact battery specifications are yet to be revealed, it’s expected to include a large battery pack offering a range of over 500 km on a single charge. A more affordable single-motor, front-wheel-drive variant is also likely to be offered.
Expected Price and Competition
The Tata Harrier EV is expected to be priced starting from ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with upcoming electric SUVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9e and the BYD Atto 3.
As the automotive industry shifts towards electric mobility, the Tata Harrier EV is poised to be a significant player in the Indian market. With its blend of performance, technology, and expected range, it promises to be an attractive option for those looking to switch to electric vehicles.
