The Dartz Prombron: An Overview
Ever heard of a car that unapologetically embraces the extravagant? The Dartz Prombron does exactly that. This ultra-luxury armored vehicle, created by the Latvian company Dartz Motorz, turns the dial up to eleven on features that make it stand out. From its imposing silhouette to its lavish interiors, the Prombron targets those who find mainstream luxury a little too subtle. One specific model, the Black Snake, gained notoriety for an unconventional upholstery option. Let’s delve into the world of the Dartz Prombron, its variants and the captivating history of the company.

The Black Snake: The Whale in the Room
While the car’s robust design is a key element, the Prombron’s Black Snake model secured its place in headlines due to a rather unique feature: whale penis leather. While this option is no longer offered, it certainly generated a lot of discussion. Dartz also offers interior options such as python, alligator and stingray leather.

The Prombron on the Big Screen and More
The Prombron has had its share of cinematic attention. It made its debut in 2012, starring in Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator, and was included in Die Hard 5, The November Man, The Interview, and even the Netflix series House of Cards. Dartz even released a special “Gold Aladeen” edition to honor its role in The Dictator.
Design and Features
The Prombron Black Snake has a bold, aggressive design that blends military and civilian aesthetics. It can come fully armored, with bulletproof windows and a blast-proof shield. Dartz even used technology first seen in Joseph Stalin’s vehicle. The car features ultra-luxury features, including safes to store an AK-47 and cigars. It also includes bottles of RussoBaltique vodka. Dartz ceased selling whale penis leather interiors after criticism.
The Black Snake’s Siblings
Beyond the Black Snake, the Dartz Prombron lineup encompasses numerous variants, allowing customers to personalize their vehicle. Notable models include: the Monaco Red Diamond Edition, Black Dragon, Black Alligator, Iron Diamond CLV, Iron Xtal, Black Russian, Gold Russian, Gold Aladeen, and White Horse.
A Brief History of Dartz Motorz
While Dartz Motorz appears to be a recent automotive player, its roots trace back to the Russo-Baltic Wagon Factory (RBVZ) established in 1874 in Riga. The factory built railway wagons but later moved into motor vehicle production. Dartz’s founder, Leonard F Yankelovich, has a great-grandfather who was one of the shareholders. Post RBVZ, two successors emerged in the early 2000s; one resurrected the former Russo-Balt name, while the other became Dartz, which found its niche in ultra-luxury.
With custom builds and unique designs, a Dartz car presents itself not just as a vehicle but as statement of power and wealth.
