Toyota and Lexus made a strong entry into the second quarter of 2025 with substantial sales increases across many of their popular models. The luxury division achieved its best April and year-to-date sales in history, largely thanks to the popularity of its hybrid and plug-in hybrid offerings.

Most Toyota and Lexus SUVs experienced healthy sales growth during April 2025, with notable performers including the Toyota RAV4 and Corolla Cross. Year-to-Date Performance
For the first four months of 2025, Lexus achieved its best-ever start, totaling 118,217 sales – an improvement of over 11,000 units compared to the same period in 2024. Electrified vehicles, including EVs, plug-in hybrids, and conventional hybrids, drove a significant portion of this increase, accounting for 5,714 additional sales.

Toyota also had a strong start to the year, moving 685,098 cars in the first four months – a 3.3% increase from 2024. Hybrid and EV sales saw significant growth, rising from 243,991 units to 354,531 units year-over-year. This represents over half of all Toyotas sold in the country so far in 2025, largely due to the transition of the Camry to hybrid-only power.

The success of Toyota’s hybrid and electrified offerings is reshaping the automotive landscape, with the brand’s ability to adapt to changing market demands proving to be a significant competitive advantage.
