Toyota City, Japan – March 12, 2025 – Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) has declared its commitment to expanding its battery electric vehicle (BEV) offerings in Europe. This move is a key element of the company’s multi-pathway approach designed to foster a carbon-neutral society.

As part of this strategy, Toyota is introducing three new models to the European market, designed to cover the B-, C-, and D-SUV segments:
- Toyota C-HR+
- bZ4X
- Lexus RZ

Toyota C-HR+
A BEV system has been integrated into the new Toyota C-HR+, which boasts eye-catching styling and practicality with its generous cabin space and a 416-liter luggage capacity.

The C-HR+ adopts the e-TNGA platform, which is complemented by specifically-tuned suspension for a satisfying driving experience. It will have two lithium-ion battery options with modified battery cells. The base model will have a 57.7 kWh battery, offering a cruising range of 455 km. The extended-range version will have a 77.0 kWh battery, giving a range of 600 km.
With both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options available for customers, the new Toyota C-HR+ is slated to launch in Europe in the second half of 2025.

bZ4X
Similar to the Toyota C-HR+, the bZ4X will use two lithium-ion batteries. Buyers will be able to select from a base model with a 57.7 kWh battery or opt for a 73.1 kWh battery for extended range. Enhancements to the eAxle boost efficiency, while the 73.1 kWh battery model will offer approximately 70 km more range than the present version.
For the first time, the bZ4X features battery pre-conditioning, allowing for rapid charging in about 30 minutes under cold conditions. Performance enhancements include increased eAxle output and revised suspension settings, which lead to an improved ride, including a quieter cabin environment.
The redesigned bZ4X is expected to debut in Europe in the latter half of 2025.

Lexus RZ
Lexus is focused on ‘The Natural’ driving concept. They are working to refine the Lexus Driving Signature, optimize the BEV system for greater range and quicker charging times, and expand its lineup with the high-performance motor-equipped RZ 550e F SPORT. Lexus is accelerating what they call the ‘Dialogue between Driver and Vehicle’ through the adoption of a Steer-by-Wire System for a new driving experience, and an Interactive Manual Drive feature, allowing for manual-like control of drive force, for an engaging driving experience.
Toyota emphasized that its diverse strategy – including HEVs, PHEVs, and FCEVs – is designed to address varied customer needs and contribute to carbon neutrality, as it continuously strives to create more advanced vehicles.
- The announcement was made at an event in Brussels, where Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries highlighted Toyota’s commitment to adapting to regional needs and creating “ever-better cars.”
