Toyota’s EV Pickup Truck in the Works
Toyota, a brand renowned worldwide for its pickup trucks, is reportedly developing an all-electric pickup, catering to the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles. While the company already offers various pickup models globally, the Hilux is the only one currently available in India.
According to recent reports, Toyota is planning an all-electric pickup. Showcased at a recent Toyota event in Belgium, the truck remains shrouded in mystery, but a single silhouette provides a glimpse of its design. The new truck is distinct from the Hilux currently available in some markets.

This new EV pickup could possibly be based on the Tacoma model and might highlight the EPU concept from EPU. The new model may hit the market in 2027.
Potential Platforms and Design
It’s likely that the EV truck will use platforms already in use by the brand, such as the bZ4x and the new CH-R. The pickup showcased a double cab design, differing from the international variants of the Hilux and Tacoma. Toyota Motor Europe President and Chief Executive Yoshihiro Nakata stated that the company’s EV strategy will enhance customer lifestyle and promote carbon neutrality.
