Track-Only Baltasar Revolt R Concept Unveiled with Massive Rear Wing
Spanish company Baltasar has unveiled its latest creation, the Revolt R concept, a track-only electric vehicle that’s turning heads with its dramatic design. The Revolt R is a significant evolution of the original Revolt roadster introduced in 2021, now transformed into a purpose-built track beast.
This all-electric vehicle tips the scales at just 1,763 pounds, making it a featherweight competitor in the high-performance car arena. The Revolt R’s most striking feature is its enormous rear wing, which sits dramatically above the roll bar, creating a visual impact that’s hard to ignore.
While specific power figures haven’t been released, the original Revolt roadster was claimed to produce 500 brake horsepower from its twin electric motors. Baltasar promises that charging to 80% capacity takes just five minutes, though more detailed performance specifications remain under wraps.
The Revolt R represents the passion project of former race car driver Baltasar López, who founded the company in Barcelona back in 2011. Despite initial plans to deliver the original Revolt roadster in 2022, production has apparently been delayed. According to Top Gear, the car might now be ready for production next year, with an estimated price tag of around €450,000 (approximately $515,000 USD).
The Revolt R enters a competitive space dominated by other high-performance electric vehicles like the McMurtry Spéirling (almost 1,000 horsepower), the Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera (1,100 horsepower), and the Ariel Hipercar (a claimed 1,180 horsepower). The simplicity of electric vehicle architecture gives manufacturers more freedom to create dramatic designs and exceptional performance capabilities.
While it’s easy to create show-stopping concept cars, actually bringing them to market is a far greater challenge – especially for smaller manufacturers like Baltasar. Only time will tell if the Revolt R can move beyond the concept stage and into production successfully.
