California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to a traffic collision involving a Caltrans truck on Thursday afternoon near Sacramento.
The incident occurred on the Golden Center Freeway, south of Sacramento Street, around 4 p.m., according to the CHP. Upon arrival, crews discovered a Honda Accord had crashed into the back of a Caltrans Safety Truck.
The driver of the Honda suffered major injuries and was transported to Sutter Roseville Hospital. The Caltrans employee was also taken to the same hospital for evaluation; the extent of their injuries remains unknown.
The CHP issued a reminder, stating, “Please make sure you slow down while in construction zones or see a stationary highway work vehicle.”
