LEXINGTON, N.C. – A driver was arrested Wednesday morning after crashing a U-Haul pickup truck into a Biscuitville restaurant in Lexington, according to the Lexington Police Department.
At approximately 9:56 a.m., officers responded to the scene at the Biscuitville located at 918 Winston Road following reports of a vehicle inside the building and possible injuries. Upon arrival, officers found a white 2024 U-Haul Chevrolet Silverado embedded in the rear of the structure. During the initial investigation, authorities also discovered a gas leak emanating from the building.
Winston Road, between 9th Avenue and 11th Avenue, has been closed to traffic and will remain so until further notice. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was taken into custody, the police department stated. Additional details will be released as the investigation continues.
