A collision occurred on Highway 59 north of Allendorf on Sunday, June 29, at approximately 4:30 p.m. A 2016 Chrysler Town & Country van driven by 49-year-old Edwin Luhda of Owatonna, MN, rear-ended a 2012 Chevy Cruze driven by 23-year-old Esmelda Del Carmen of Windom, MN. The incident happened when Del Carmen attempted to make a left turn onto 100th Street. As a result, 47-year-old Wanida Luhda, a passenger in Edwin’s vehicle, was injured and transported to Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley by ambulance. Edwin Luhda was cited for failure to reduce speed to a reasonable and proper speed, while Del Carmen was cited for driving without a valid license. The van sustained an estimated $10,000 in damages, while the car suffered approximately $500 in damages.
