Vayve Mobility: Solar-Powered EVs Designed for Urban Travel

Vayve Mobility, an Indian company, is introducing a new line of solar-powered electric vehicles (EVs) designed to address urban challenges.

Urban areas worldwide confront problems such as traffic jams and pollution. Vayve Mobility’s EVs offer a new way to get around.

    EVA: Solar Powered Efficiency

The EVA is a compact solar-electric vehicle for city commuting. It’s built to be eco-friendly and efficient, appealing to people concerned about the environment.

The EVA integrates solar panels. These panels can provide up to 15 kilometers of driving per day from solar charging alone. It can reach speeds of 70kph, accelerating from 0 to 40 kph in just five seconds.

The solar panels help reduce reliance on external charging, decreasing the vehicle’s carbon footprint. It offers a total range of 250 kilometers using DC fast charging for longer trips. The EVA’s size makes it ideal for navigating city streets.

    CT5 EV Taxi: Shared Mobility

The CT5 EV Taxi is designed for ride-sharing. It can accommodate five passengers and focuses on durability and passenger comfort. The design enables easy use in the city.

Its spacious interior provides ample legroom, and the climate control system maintains a comfortable temperature. Robust suspension is built to withstand daily use.

    Digital-First Design Process

Traditional automotive design often involves physical models, which can be costly and time-consuming.

Vayve Mobility uses rapid prototyping and a digital-first approach. They use Autodesk Fusion for end-to-end vehicle design.

Autodesk Fusion helps integrate design, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring accuracy at each stage. This includes rapid prototyping and testing. Fusion’s cloud-based collaboration helps with communication between teams.

Nilesh Bajaj, CEO of Vayve Mobility, explains, “Using the cloud isn’t just file storage, but an active integration with the development process. We have around ten people in our mechanical design team, and they work on different modules. The team lead takes these individual components and puts them in a single model, which he can review in real-time as the model develops.”

He adds, “Everyone can work independently, but we can see the progress of the whole model as it is coming along while the development is happening and not as an afterthought. It saves a lot of time in the iteration process.”

    Vayve’s Vision

Vayve Mobility uses solar power and considers market demand. It aims to meet the needs of city commuters while promoting a greener environment. The company’s digital approach to car design saves time and money.

Bajaj says, “Fusion has helped us to bring our product to market significantly faster. Being a start-up, agility is one of the key factors that we require in the development process. By using the Fusion platform, we can save about 50% of the development time and about 70% of the development cost that we would have to make if we would have chosen the other options in the market.”

Deliveries for the EVA are expected to begin by 2026. The EVA was recently displayed at the 2025 New Delhi Auto Expo. Pre-bookings for the EVA are now open on Vayve Mobility’s website in three variants — Nova, Stella, and Vega — allowing buyers to select options depending on their needs. It also provides the option to either buy the battery or choose a battery subscription.
