VCI Global (NASDAQ: VCIG) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Lux-Motion (Datanex Asia) for US$1.8 million, marking a strategic move into the US$350 billion automotive e-commerce market. This acquisition is poised to bolster VCI Global’s presence in the digital automotive marketplace and expand its AI-driven digital lending capabilities.

Lux-Motion is a Malaysian luxury supercar e-commerce platform leveraging AI technology through its proprietary LuxScore system. The platform offers:

    • AI-Powered Instant Financing with automated loan approvals
    • Lease-to-Own and flexible payment options
    • Blockchain-Based Digital Ownership for secure asset tracking
    • AI-Powered Vehicle Matching using the LuxScore algorithm

The global automotive e-commerce market is projected to reach US$343.13 billion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.6%. This acquisition positions VCI Global to tap into this expanding market and transform high-value vehicle financing. The integration of AI-powered risk assessment and blockchain-backed transaction security strengthens VCI Global’s innovation within the luxury auto sector.

Dato’ Victor Hoo, Group Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of VCI Global, noted, “Luxury car buyers expect efficiency, trust, and seamless financing. This acquisition is a strategic milestone that strengthens our position in AI-powered asset financing while laying the foundation for future expansion into high-value digital lending, enabling VCI Global to compete with major digital automotive platforms.”

The acquisition provides several potential value drivers, including technology transfer opportunities across VCI Global’s existing businesses, entry into automotive financing with the potential for recurring revenue streams, and blockchain infrastructure that could be leveraged for other high-value assets. The technology stack acquired through Lux-Motion, with its sophisticated integration of AI and blockchain, appears promising. The proprietary LuxScore system, which functions as both a risk assessment tool and personalization engine, is a key asset.

With this acquisition, VCI Global aims to build a scalable ecosystem that streamlines luxury car transactions, enhances customer experience, unlocks new revenue streams, increases market valuation, and drives long-term value for investors.
