Vehicle Damages Bangor Township Home, Resident Unharmed
BANGOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car crash that occurred early Sunday morning after a vehicle struck a house. Investigators report the incident happened in Bangor Township.

Around 2:30 a.m., a 38-year-old man from Battle Creek was traveling east along 32nd Avenue. According to deputies, the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the T-shaped intersection of 70th Street. The vehicle then drove through the front yard before crashing into the front of a house on 70th Street.
The homeowner, who was sleeping in the main bedroom at the time of the accident, was not injured. The homeowner had just returned home after four months of recovery from a stroke, according to News Channel 3.
The driver was taken to Corewell Hospital in St. Joseph for treatment of injuries. Authorities suspect that alcohol was a factor in the crash. A blood kit was sent to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
Pending the blood test results, the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office may review the investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
