The VIR transport company is expanding its electric vehicle fleet, adding 40 Iveco eDailys to improve delivery services in major French cities and meet upcoming European emissions regulations. This move by VIR will enable quiet, zero-emission deliveries in low-emission zones, like those in city centers. These vehicles will also help the company comply with European regulations that seek to eliminate CO2 emissions from all new cars and commercial vehicles by 2035.
Currently, VIR’s electric vehicles operate primarily in the Paris region, with additional service in Bordeaux and Salon-de-Provence. Each vehicle is expected to travel approximately 150 kilometers each day, returning to its base for overnight charging. The company selected the 23-cubic-meter chassis cab model, which is powered by three batteries offering a range of up to 330 km. The eDaily’s electric motor provides up to 140 kW (190 hp) with a torque of up to 400 Nm, promising responsive handling and an enjoyable driving experience.
According to initial feedback from VIR drivers, the Iveco eDailys have been well-received. Drivers have highlighted the ease of use, comfort, and excellent handling of the new vehicles.
