Volkswagen has expanded its electric vehicle lineup by introducing electric variants of its Transporter Shuttle and Kombi models. Both versions of the popular vans can now be ordered with a 65kWh battery pack and electric motor, offering customers a more sustainable transportation solution.
Key Features and Specifications
Both the Transporter Shuttle and Kombi will come equipped with the same 65kWh battery pack and electric motor, although customers will have a choice of power outputs. The Kombi’s powertrain produces 134bhp and 415Nm of torque, with a claimed range of up to 195 miles on a single charge. The Shuttle offers two powertrain options: a 134bhp variant and a more powerful 215bhp version, with a maximum range of 192 miles.
Charging Capabilities and Pricing
All models are compatible with 125kW DC rapid charging, allowing for a 10-80% charge in just 40 minutes. Pricing for the electric variants starts at £53,404 (inc. VAT) for the Transporter Kombi Commerce Plus and £56,129 (inc. VAT) for the Transporter Shuttle Life in short-wheelbase format. Order books are now open, with deliveries expected to commence later this year.
Equipment and Variants
The entry-level Transporter Shuttle Life and Kombi Commerce Plus BEVs come equipped with all-season tyres, heated front seats, and an energy-saving heat pump. The Shuttle is available in both short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase versions, providing customers with flexibility to choose the configuration that best suits their needs.
