Volkswagen has revealed the ID. EVERY1 concept, a potential glimpse into an entry-level electric vehicle (EV) planned for a 2027 launch. The anticipated price point is around £17,000, making it a potentially attractive option for those seeking an affordable entry into the EV market.

Volkswagen has been hinting at the ID. EVERY1 concept for some time, seeking to understand consumer preferences as the automotive industry shifts away from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The company seems to believe that a competitively priced EV, the VW ID. EVERY1, will fit into the existing ID family of EVs. Although a production model is not expected until 2027, this concept offers a strong indication of the final car.
Positioned below the recently unveiled ID.2all Concept, which is expected to go into production in 2026, the ID. EVERY1 Concept is intended to act as a replacement for the VW Up! It measures 3880mm in length, which is comparable in size to the Hyundai Inster and Honda e, and it promises enough space for four adults, as well as a respectable boot capacity.
The design of the ID. EVERY1 is distinctly Volkswagen, with a familiar front fascia and smooth lines. However, it’s unlikely that the production model will include the 19-inch alloy wheels and flush door handles that are visible on the initial concept car.
The specific powertrain details for the EVERY1 have not been fully disclosed by Volkswagen to the public. However, it is confirmed that the single motor will have 94bhp and a range of approximately 155 miles. This suggests that the car will be powered by a battery with a capacity of around 40kWh.
Inside, the design is kept simple, with a small driver display and a central infotainment system. The dashboard includes a central storage compartment and welcome physical buttons for controlling the climate and volume.
Thomas Schafer made the following statement:
“The ID. EVERY1 represents the last piece of the puzzle on our way to the widest model selection in the volume segment. We will then offer every customer the right car with the right drive system – including affordable all-electric entry-level mobility. Our goal is to be the world’s technologically leading high-volume manufacturer by 2030. And as a brand for everyone – just as you would expect from Volkswagen.”

Volkswagen is optimistic that the ID.1, which could potentially be named the ID. Up! upon release, will prove to be profitable, even with its competitive price point. Despite this, it remains questionable how this will be realized.
