Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. EVERY1, a concept car that previews the company’s upcoming entry-level electric vehicle (EV). Slated for production in 2027, the ID. EVERY1 is anticipated to have a starting price of approximately €20,000.
The ID. EVERY1 follows the ID. 2all, which is scheduled for launch in 2026 and will be priced around €25,000. Both models are part of Volkswagen’s new Electric Urban Car Family and use a front-wheel-drive configuration. These vehicles are being developed under the Core brand group within the Volkswagen Group, utilizing the company’s new modular electric drive platform (MEB).
“The ID. EVERY1 represents the last piece of the puzzle on our way to the widest model selection in the volume segment,” explained Thomas Schäfer, Volkswagen Brand CEO. “We will then offer every customer the right car with the right drive system – including affordable all-electric entry-level mobility.”
Kai Grünitz, Volkswagen Development Board Member, highlighted the customer-centric design approach. “In the future model, we talk about Customer Defined Vehicles. The ID. EVERY1 shows that we are putting our customers, their wishes, interests and preferences at the centre of vehicle development more consistently than ever,” he stated.
Notably, the ID. EVERY1 will be the first vehicle within the Volkswagen Group to utilize a new software architecture. This advancement will enable functional updates throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.
Design-wise, the concept draws inspiration from the recently discontinued Up! model, while incorporating Volkswagen’s updated design language. The ID. EVERY1 measures 3,880mm in length, positioning it between the former Up! (3,600mm) and the current Polo (4,074mm). The vehicle is designed to accommodate four passengers and offers 305 liters of cargo space.
Technically, the ID. EVERY1 features a newly developed 70 kW (95 PS) electric motor, a top speed of 130 km/h, and a minimum range of 250 kilometers.
The ID. EVERY1 is a key part of Volkswagen’s three-phase strategic plan. This plan aims to enhance the company’s competitiveness, launch nine new models by 2027, and establish Volkswagen as the technological leader in mass-market automotive manufacturing by 2030.
“Our goal is to be the world’s technologically leading high-volume manufacturer by 2030,” affirmed Schäfer.
