Volkswagen’s ID. EVERY1 Concept Previews Affordable Electric Future
Volkswagen is charting an ambitious course toward electric mobility, and the newly unveiled ID. EVERY1 concept car provides a crucial glimpse into that future. Designed with the European market in mind, this all-electric entry-level model promises to make EV ownership more accessible, with a targeted launch in 2027 and a starting price point of approximately 20,000 euros.
The ID. EVERY1 concept offers a glimpse into Volkswagen’s vision for an affordable electric future. The production version aims to provide a blend of sporty design, a versatile interior, and advanced digital features, making it appealing to both private and commercial customers.
Part of Family of Electric Vehicles
The ID. EVERY1 is also part of Volkswagen’s Electric Urban Car Family, which will include the ID. 2all, already slated for release in 2026 in the 25,000-euro class, as well as the sport version ID. GTI Concept. These models are built on the new modular electric drive (MEB) platform with front-wheel drive. This configuration is intended to maximize space utilization and efficiency.
Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, emphasized the strategic importance of this new model family. “The ID. EVERY1 is the last piece of the puzzle on our journey to having the widest model selection in the volume segment. We will then offer every customer the right car with the right drive system – including affordable entry-level all-electric mobility,” Schäfer noted. “Our goal: We will expand our position as the world’s leading volume manufacturer in terms of technology by 2030. And as a brand for everyone – just as you would expect from Volkswagen.”
Software and Design
A key feature of the production version of the ID. EVERY1 will be its advanced software architecture, enabling lifelong updates and upgrades. This technology will allow the vehicle to evolve and adapt to the customer’s needs even after purchase, ensuring that the car remains current with the latest features.
Volkswagen’s designers have incorporated recognizable design elements from models like the up!, the ID. EVERY1’s predecessor, while introducing fresh styling cues. Andreas Mindt, Head of Design at Volkswagen, explained, “Our ambition was to create something bold yet accessible. The ID. EVERY1 has a self-assured appearance but remains likeable – thanks to details such as the dynamic front lights and the ‘smiling’ rear.”
Specifications and Range
The ID. EVERY1 concept boasts a length of 3,880 mm, positioning it between the former up! and the ID. 2all. It is powered by a newly developed 70 kW (95 PS) electric drive motor, with a top speed of 130 km/h, and approximately 250 kilometers of range. The car offers space for up to four occupants and a 305-liter luggage compartment.
Volkswagen’s Future Plans for Electric Vehicles
The ID. EVERY1 is a cornerstone of Volkswagen’s broader electric vehicle (EV) strategy. Volkswagen plans to introduce nine new models by 2027, including four electric models based on the MEB platform with front-wheel drive. The company is deeply committed to electric mobility and aims to become a technological leader in the high-volume market by 2030.
The Volkswagen brand’s three-phase plan includes strengthening competitiveness, expanding the existing model range, and achieving technological leadership by 2030. Volkswagen will give a further preview of the new Electric Urban Car Family soon. By 2027, there will be nine new models including the ID.2all for less than 25,000 euros and the ID. EVERY1 for about 20,000 euros.
