VW ID. Every1: Affordable Electric Vehicle on the Horizon
Volkswagen has revealed the ID. Every1 concept, a compact all-electric vehicle poised to become a more affordable option in their EV lineup. The new concept car is designed to fill the void in Volkswagen’s current portfolio left by the departure of the Up! model. The ID. Every1’s potential production model is expected to arrive in 2027.
The show car features a 94-horsepower electric motor that powers the front wheels, which VW says is enough to reach a top speed of 81 mph. The ID. Every1 is expected to be built on the brand’s front-wheel-drive MEB architecture, allowing for an estimated range of 155 miles on a single charge. The vehicle’s footprint is comparable to that of a 1980 VW Golf, measuring approximately 152.8 inches in length. Despite its small size it has a width of 71.5 inches which dwarfs the Golf’s 63.4 inch width.
The interior of the ID. Every1 features a large central touchscreen, with the driver display integrated into the dashboard. Volkswagen has stated it will incorporate recycled PET bottles into the fabric used for the interior of the vehicle. The production version of this car is expected in 2027. The potential starting price is said to be around 20,000 euros.
As for whether the ID. Every1 will make its way the US, it’s still unclear, but the future of small and affordable EVs in the US is always a topic of discussion among auto enthusiasts.
