A woman was critically injured after being struck by a pickup truck near UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh’s Bluff neighborhood on May 29, 2025. Pittsburgh Public Safety officials reported that emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Locust Street and Pride Street just before 2 p.m. after receiving reports of a person hit by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officials found the woman in the roadway suffering from significant trauma to her leg. She was immediately taken to an area hospital where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
Preliminary investigation by collision investigators suggests that the woman stepped into the road from the southern sidewalk of Locust Street directly into the path of an oncoming pickup truck that was pulling a flatbed trailer.
