Woman Makes Tiny Electric Car Her Home
People often find creative uses for their vehicles, but one woman’s conversion of a three-wheeled electric car into her home has captured the internet’s attention. Janet Colby, known on TikTok, has garnered millions of views as people marvel at her self-made tiny home.
From the outside, the car resembles a Kei car, a class of small vehicles common in Japan and other parts of the Pacific Rim.
Inside, the vehicle has been transformed with stuffed animals, interior and roof lights, pillows, curtains, a folding table, and a makeshift bed. She also has a portable heater for colder months, but what she does during hot weather is unknown. Colby has even added a pull-down projector screen on the windshield, allowing her to watch movies inside.
While the electric vehicle is undoubtedly “cozy,” it lacks essential amenities like a kitchen, bathroom, and shower. Despite these limitations, this appears to be her full-time living situation. This has led others to question whether she truly lives in the car or if the elaborate setup is just a gimmick to gain views and followers. Her first video, uploaded in late 2024 shows the EV when it’s brand new, so she’s either been living there for a short time, or has found a way to get attention online.
Some of Colby’s admirers have expressed safety concerns about her living arrangements. After all, a car does not offer the same level of privacy and safety as a house. Others have commented on how she often shows the car parked on the outskirts of a quiet town, which they call “creepy.”
