Workhorse Group (Nasdaq: WKHS) has been approved to import and sell its W56 and W750 electric step vans in Canada. The approval, granted through the Appendix G Pre-clearance Program, allows Canadian import dealers to distribute these zero-emission commercial vehicles nationwide.
Transport Canada validated the vehicles’ compliance with Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS). Workhorse plans to begin on-road testing with a last-mile delivery fleet in Canada by the second quarter of 2025.
This expansion represents a significant milestone for Workhorse, as it expands its reach within the Canadian market. “This is a major step forward for Workhorse,” said Josh Anderson, Workhorse Chief Technology Officer. “Pre-clearance from Transport Canada opens up a large new market for our products throughout Canada, including with fleets that operate across borders in North America. Workhorse has noted strong interest from Canadian fleets eager to adopt medium-duty commercial EVs. The company is also exploring opportunities to expand its dealer network in Canada.
