Andrea Marazzi, the creative force behind the YouTube channel ‘tutti pazzi per marazzi,’ has successfully built the world’s narrowest Fiat Panda. This remarkable, fully functional electric vehicle measures a mere 50 centimeters in width and retains many original parts from a 1993 Fiat Panda model. The car features a single seat, a small steering wheel, and a solitary headlight to navigate through the night. Its rear design bears a striking resemblance to the bow of a ship or yacht. While significantly slower than the standard Panda, its compact size allows it to fit into tight spaces between cars and on narrow roads.
Marazzi dedicated 12 months to crafting this unique vehicle, utilizing 99% of the original parts from the 1993 model. He preserved the roof, doors, and styling elements while reconfiguring the body, frame, and internal structure to accommodate a single occupant and an electric powertrain. Notably, the vehicle retains its four-wheel design, adapted to fit within the downsized frame.
The world’s narrowest Fiat Panda weighs 264 kg, stands 145 cm tall, and stretches 340 cm in length. Its electric motor enables it to reach a top speed of 15 km/h, comparable to a brisk walking pace or moderate cycling speed, with a range of approximately 25 kilometers on a full charge. However, it’s important to note that this vehicle is not street-legal and is intended as an exhibition piece for events and shows. Marazzi refers to it as a ‘drivable art automobile’ or a ‘sculptural project.’
The project was developed at Autodemolizione Marazzi in Bagnolo Cremasco, a family-owned scrapyard and workshop. Marazzi, aged 30, conceived the idea of halving the original vehicle’s width to create a single-seater car. Currently, he and his team are preparing to submit an official application for a Guinness World Record for the narrowest car ever constructed.
